Phillippa Domville

Performance Acting

Philippa is an actor, writer, choreographer and movement instructor raised Montreal and trained at the National Theatre School. She has worked as actor fro twenty five years performing in theatres throughout the country as well as various film and television projects. She played leading roles for two seasons at both the Stratford and Shaw Festivals and received a Dora nomination for her work in Time After Time; The Chet Baker Project which she toured nationally. She was part of the international cast of the original production of the Penelopiad performing at the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Arts center to critical acclaim. She was also part of the original production of the Governor General Award winning play If We Were Birds at the Tarragon Theatre. More recently she played Lady Macbeth in Canadian Stage’s Dream in High Park. This fall she appeared in The Trouble with Mr. Adams and Within The Glass at the Tarragon Theatre. With her own Company, Theatre Petit Jeu she wrote and choreographed several works of movement theatre again to critical acclaim.

She has taught theatre movement at Ryerson School of Performance for fifteen years and has well over fifteen years experience as a Pilates/yoga instructor in studios throughout Toronto. She maintains a private Pilates/bodywork practice in her own studio “ The Breathing Space”. 

She is currently working on a comic novel as well as a new piece of movement theatre, an environmental dystopia inspired by images from the Gulf Oil spill.
