Peter Pasyk

Peter is a theatre director, the artistic director of Surface/Underground, and an alumnus of the Ryerson Theatre School. He directed the Dora-nominated shows Blood, Dying City, When the World Was Green andThe Jones Boy. World premiere productions include Rosa Laborde’sLike Wolves; and Jordan Tannahill’s Late Company, named by NOW Magazine as one of the Top Ten Toronto Theatre Shows of 2015. Toronto premieres include Tracy Letts’ Killer Joe; and Tarragon Theatre’s production of Geoffrey Simon Brown’s The Circle. Peter has been the Artistic Director Intern of Crow’s Theatre, the Urjo Kareda Artist-in-Residence at Tarragon Theatre, and the director-in-residence at both the Shaw Festival and the Stratford Festival. He has been nominated for the Pauline McGibbon Award and the John Hirsch Prize. Peter also works with young artists as a teaching guest director at Tarragon Theatre, Canadian Stage, Paprika Festival and Randolph Academy. Peter hopes to one day return to Ryerson Theatre School to work as a guest director with new generation artists.
