Julia Kim is a Toronto-based set and costume designer, working in theatre and dance. She graduated from Ryerson University with a BFA (Hons.) in Performance Production in 2015. She started working at Shaw Festival as a design intern in 2015 season. In 2016 season, she has been working closely with William Schmuck, Sue LePage, Charlotte Dean, and Judith Bowden as an assistant designer.
Selected Design Credits include: set and costume design for Hello From Bertha, Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen, One Short Sleepe, The Retreating World, Shaw Festival Director’s Projects (2016); set design for Grease, Kitchener-Waterloo Musical Productions (2016); set and costume design for Armband, Human Body Expression (2015); costume design for The Last Five Years by Daemon Theatre (2015); installation design for Awaken Your Creativity, for Toronto Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2014; and costume design for Six Characters in Search of an Author at Ryerson University (2013).
